I'm gonna shake up your shrimp world today, with shrimp salad perfection. That's what I thought the first time this combination passed my lips...sheer shrimp genius on a plate! And to say that after 30 years it's still on my mind qualifies this as a memorable merger indeed! Grapefruit's piquant bitter juiciness balanced by French dressing's sweetness, and creamy avocado, all adorning succulent shrimp atop a bed of greens...truly, it's a marriage made in heaven!
I love potatoes, oh what bliss! Especially the red ones, when they're cooked whole and unpeeled...just like that, still warm and eaten over the sink sprinkled with a bit of salt. Carb goodness in a neat package, gluten free, potassium full and oh so satisfying! Their whiteness has earned them a really bad rap. But I choose to disagree; it's copious amounts of butter and cream most potato recipes call for that ruin the glorious earthiness of the humble spud. |
